Rock Hard is the seventh solo studio album by the American rock singer-songwriter and bass guitarist Suzi Quatro. It was originally released in October 1980, and was her first and only release by the record label, Dreamland. The album was recorded over a period of one month in 1980, at United Western Studios, in Hollywood. It features three prolific guest backing vocalists, including Paul Delph, Michael Des Barres, and Andrea Robinson. It is notably her last album to chart anywhere for twenty-six. Like its predecessor Check Your Head, Ill Communication is not strictly a Hip Hop album, but a mash-up of styles with liberal doses punk-rock thrown in the mix. Never afraid to experiment and do exactly what they wanted, Beastie Boys stayed true to their punk-rock roots on this album. Ill Communication will not be for everybody, but its a classic in its own right, with massive appeal to other, non-Hip Hop audiences. Talkin dat drive by sh , Everybody talkin dat gangsta sh , Talkin dat drive by thang, Everybody talking dat gangsta swang, Slaves to the rhythm of the master, Buck boom buck another, Neighborhood disaster So Whatcha Gone Do Now At times even more dense production-wise than their previous albums, and maybe a bit too long for its own good this album was less accessible than previous P. albums and sadly marked the decline of Public Enemys popularity and importance. Producer Prince Pauls second album is a crowning achievement in the genre of rap music. Hands down the art forms best concept album, Paul, whose past genius includes work with De La Soul, Gravediggaz, MC Paul Barman, and Handsome Boy Modeling School, molded a detailed story that rivals any movie released in the decade. They made the trailer below for the album, and honestly, its better than any Spiderman movie. Songs like Queens, The Next Shit with Busta Rhymes, and Right Here are all additional standouts, but the entire record works as quite an impressive body of work for the era. In addition to Pharoahes contributions behind the boards, production also appears from Diamond D, The Alchemist, Lee Stone, and DJ Scratch. Youd be hard pressed to find 365 da. Travis Jensen. From the syrupy circle of personal hell that is Faucet to lines from Off The Top like I'm only happy when there's static in the air, 'cause the fair weathers fake to me, Earls genius lies in the inclusivity his depression blankets over the listener, and how he manages to make the paranoia of anxiety feel as relatable as. ever b. The intro to the title track of . Music grabs listeners with five simple words: Rap music is my religion. The kind of religion where communion is goblets full of Hennessey a true players Pentecostal. The album spawned his biggest hit so far, Hard Knock Life Ghetto Anthem, which propelled Vol. 2 to the dizzying heights of 5 million record sales by the year 2000. The track made it to number 15 on the US Billboard Charts, although it was lead single Can I Get A that won Jay a spot atop the US Billboard 200 album charts. That song was picked up by Rush Hour. Stylistically, its a shift back towards Reasonable Doubt, and ironically, despite the heavy radio airplay that the first two singles received, Jay steers clear of trying to make a true radio hit. I wanted Dame Grease, cause he was workin on the DMX album Its Dark And Hell Is Hot. I was like, Wheres the guy thats making all of those songs He came in, he played those songs. We went from my office to the studio, we made four records From there, the body of the album was in place
