Album

The 200 Motels soundtrack to Frank Zappa's film 200 Motels was released by United Artists Records in 1971. Like the film, the album covers a loose storyline about The Mothers of Invention going crazy in the small town of Centerville and bassist Jeff quitting the group, as did his real life counterpart, Jeff Simmons, who left the group before the film began shooting and was replaced by actor Martin Lickert for the film. 200 Motels is a 1971 American-British musical surrealist film cowritten by Frank Zappa and Tony Palmer and starring The Mothers of Invention, Theodore Bikel and Ringo Starr. A soundtrack album was released in the same year, with a slightly different selection of music. In 200 Motels, the film attempts to portray the craziness of life on the road as a rock musician, and as such consists of a series of unconnected nonsense vignettes interspersed with concert footage of the Mothers of Invention. You couldn't call it a classical orchestra version of a rock work, for the original film soundtrack of Frank Zappa's 1971 film 200 Motels also contained a substantial orchestral component, performed originally by no less than the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. The film was intended as a kind of rock opera about a touring band that's the title's reference. Frank Zappa : Frank Zappa's 200 Motels,альбом, рецезия, трек-лист, mp3, тексты песен. Banal
To expand on what I said: of course I have only heard about how bad most pressings were, outside of the two I had before I got this NM version.
Brariel
I can only compare to the Italian and US pressing of this title, the former from 1981 and the other a first pressing, but this one trumps them in clarity and detail and dynamics, while on top of that, it is a dead silent one, I can only wonder what the first remaster from 1977 sounded like, but I think this Pathe pressing plant was very good, I have other records that came from there in that period and they are spotless! Later they turned out much less quality. But this one, recommended! Other pressings of this great album are mostly quite bad, murky and such!
