All That Glitters - MRI. Лента с персональными рекомендациями и музыкальными новинками, радио, подборки на любой вкус, удобное управление своей коллекцией. All That Glitters. Исполнитель: MRI. 2008 electronic. MRI broadens its style on All That Glitters, the follow-up to the duo's unanimously praised debut full-length, Rhythmogenesis, to include more vocals, more dub, and more overall variety. Of all the tech-house artists moving the age-old sound of house further toward the possibilities of the glitch aesthetic - using laptops rather than samplers and traditional instruments - MRI was in the lead at the time Force Tracks released All That Glitters, alongside such fellow glitch-house trendsetters as Luomo. Human Patterns was from MRI's debut Rhythmogenesis, a collection of earlier EPs. All That Glitters is their first full-length of original material, and it marks a shift to a more pop direction. The final track on this excellent new album is called Nightclubbing at Home, a brilliant title that highlights a smart way for listeners to approach the record. Though they're lumped in with these other microhouse producers, on All That Glitters, MRI approach this meeting place for house rhythms and sonic experimentation from the perspective of the dancefloor, and a son. Album starts at 121BPM, ends at 130BPM 9, with tempos within the 121-185BPM range. Try refreshing the page if dots are missing

MRI's sophomore full-length is just plain fun. Their unique blend of the minimal German techno aesthetic with elements of filtered disco, funk and house is very appealing to me. And they've done it a lot better on "All That Glitters" than they did on "Rhythmogenesis" (which is a solid affair in its own right).
There's not a track on the cd I dislike, but 'Next Step' has some of the catchiest basslines and keyboard rhythms I've heard in a long time, is thoroughly danceable, and never fails to put a smile on my face.
