A1 Staying Power Aguante. Hot Space is the tenth studio album by the British rock band Queen. It was released on 21 May 1982 by EMI Records in the UK and by Elektra Records in the US. Marking a notable shift in direction from their earlier work, they employed many elements of disco, funk, rhythm and blues, dance and pop music on the album. This made the album less popular with fans who preferred the traditional rock style they had come to associate with the band. Queen's decision to record a dance-oriented album germinated. But the album's undeniable saving grace is the concluding Under Pressure, an utterly majestic, otherworldly duet with David Bowie that recaptures the effortless grace of Queen's mid-'70s peak, but is underscored with a truly affecting melancholy heart that gives it a genuine human warmth unheard in much of their music. Frankly, Under Pressure is the only reason most listeners remember this album, which is as much a testament to the song's strength as it is to the rather desultory nature of the rest of Hot Space. Queen's 10th studio album Hot Space saw the band experiment with electro-disco and featured Freddie and Bowie's iconic single, 'Under Pressure'. In fact, Hot Space has long been considered quite a controversial career move for Queen since much if the mood is defined by the dance and funky disco theyd hit on with Deacons Another One Bites The Dust. A Warhol-inspired cover. The album cover, Freddies idea, is one based loosely on an Andy Warhol screen print style, showing the four members in separate quarters. Hot Space did not receive much support from fans in the United States. As a result, Queen stopped touring the States. One of the saddest outcomes of any record's release. Hot Space was Queen's attempt at something new. Unfortunately, many Americans did not climb on board with Queen for the adventure of Hot Space. Their loss, and a bit of a loss for Queen in record sales. Nonetheless, I still enjoy this album to this day in 2014. Some really great songs here Cool Cat, Back chat, las palabras de amor, Under Pressure. Never understood why everyone says this is the worst Queen album. Bunch of closed minded people
